Jun CHEN is chief scientist of National Geomatics Center of China and president of International Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS). He became a full professor of Wuhan University 1992 and had supervised more than 40 Phd students since than 1993. He has developed a number of novel models or algorithms on geo-spatial data modeling, updating and services (such as Voronoi-based 9-intersection model, POK-based classification approach), and published more than 160 Journal papers. He has led the development of the world’s first 30-m global land cover data product (GlobeLand30) and set up an operational web-based service platform (www.globeland30.org). He has received two National Science Prizes for his outstanding research achievements

Jun CHEN Jun has been active in both national and international societies. He was the president of China association of GIS from 1999-2011, and has served as ISPRS WG chair (1996-2000), Technical Commission II president (2000-2004), Congress director (2004-2008), Secretary General (2008-2012). He had served as the co-chair of Geomatics sub-committee of State Academic Degrees Committee of China.
